Your tax deductible contribution will help The Anne Spencer Memorial Foundation to fund educational programs such as this years 25th Annual Poetry Contest, and to continue with the Foundation's successful efforts to preserve the historic home, cottage, and garden.
Your support is also vital to our community outreach programs. Recent data shows the area in which the Museum is located, is in the highest concentrated area of poverty within the City of Lynchburg. During the early 20th-century the Pierce Street neighborhood was home to well respected, working-class and upper middle-class people who worked in the surrounding mills, schools, and businesses. In addition, several outstanding individuals made national and international history in the fields of education, arts, aviation, health, and sports.
